Margot’s New Buggy, More Possibilities

Margot has always loved being outside, feeling the wind on her face, going over bumpy trails, and being part of the action. As Margot has grown, getting out and about for family adventures has become more challenging. Margot has high and complex needs, including being non-mobile, which means she relies on specialised equipment to get around. While her wheelchair is great for everyday use, it isn’t built for rough terrain, making many outdoor adventures difficult.

Her family wanted to find a solution that would allow Margot to keep enjoying nature and being part of family outings. They applied to Fund For Good to purchase a Medium Delta All-Terrain Buggy with Schwalbe puncture-proof tyres. This is a lightweight, foldable buggy designed for outdoor environments like beaches and nature trails.

Since receiving it, they’ve made the most of summer, exploring new places and spending more time outdoors together in their neighbourhood. The buggy’s portability means Margot can easily travel with different caregivers and access locations that were previously too difficult to navigate.

Beyond making adventures more accessible, her family hopes this will help sustain a lifestyle where she can continue to be active in her local community, access adventures that typical 6 year olds can and enjoy the outdoors with greater freedom. Having the right mobility support has opened up more possibilities for Margot to be part of more experiences and enjoy the world around her.
